RE: new mattress for 5th wheel

We also live in South Texas, and found a good deal on a pillow top at Denver Mattress. Ours is also a 5vr Queen, but the standard Queen mattress fits perfect and my feet don't hang off the end. All for under $200.

RE: FEBRUARY TRAVEL

Heavy traffic on I-40. When I travel to and from Washington D.C. area from South Texas I take I-10/I-59/I-81 and reverse when I head home. Less traffic, and a scenic drive.

RE: Easiest route from Amarillo, TX to Red River, NM

Another option is I-40 to about 16 miles West Santa Rosa, NM, then 84 north to Las Vegas, NM, then I-25 up to 58 west. We take this route when we go to Tres Ritos, NM, which is south of where you are headed. Nice drive and the roads are good, but like previosly mentioned watch the weather, but have a blast.

RE: I20 Dallas to Atlanta in Late November

The KOA in Shreveport, LA is a nice clean place and the owners (Tom and Tracy) are great folks to visit with or help if you need. The KOA is easy to access from I-20. We stayed there for 3-months and loved it.

RE: Where to Fuel???

There are two Loves Truck Stops along the 59 and 77 routes. The first one is in Edna off 59 and the second one is in Kingsville off 77.

RE: What kind of Wax do you 5ers use?

FYI for those using NuFinish. It is not a wax, but a polish. If you are talking wax then Meguir's or Mothers or any wax containing Carnuba.

RE: Need help finding a Fiver Toy Hauler

Not sure if you have looked at Funtime RV in Cleburne, but they have several. Once on their website click on the Toy Hauler Showroom. Crestview RV in Selma, TX (Outside San Antonio) also has a Toy Hauler. Once on their site take a look at the RV Specials. Crestview also has a place in Georgetown, TX and Buda, TX Here are the links to both Fun Time http://www.funtimerv.com/toy-haulers.aspx Crestview http://www.buyrv.net/

RE: Fleetwood Prowler?

Yes a Fiver Why did you switch to a Jayco fiver? Wanted a little more room and was tired of the porpoising of a TT. We gained about 100 sq ft living space with the FW and it tows much better. But why the Jayco sorry Im just curious? I have a 26ft TT now and my major reason for want to change is the towing and the hooking and unhooking Thanks We shopped around for over a year and did our research on FW's. We wanted something under $30K with a good warranty, nationwide service, light weight for weekends and a couple weeks a year trips. Jayco provides all of the above and had two different floor plans we liked. We compared these floor plans with other manufacturers, and settled on Jayco. The plus side is we bought a 2008 29.5 RLS Eagle Super Lite with Reese 16K slider for $25K including our trade. As I mentioned previously, towing a FW is much better. No fighting the passing 18-wheeler, and crosswinds do not buck you around as bad. Hooking and unhooking are much easier. Level left to right, drop front stabilizers, lower rear stabilizers, connect water, cable, sewer, slides out, and open my favorite beverage and enjoy the time. Fuel mileage only decreased 1 mile per gallon and the weight difference is about 1,000 pounds more than the TT.

RE: Fleetwood Prowler?

Are you talking about a TT or 5er? We have had two Fleetwood TT's and just upgraded to a Jayco FW. Both Prowlers were good TT with no problems, we liked both but decided we wanted a FW. The first was a 2001 model and the last one was a 2004 model.

RE: Rubber Roof Cleaning

I use Simple Green for the entire RV (Inside and Out). It is biodegradable, so that means it is also non-petroleum. I have had good luck with it removing black streaks and some seriously stuck on bugs. Keep a spray bottle handy that is straight stuff for those tough spots.

Good Deal or Not???

We found a a new 08' Jayco 29.5 RLS and the dealer is asking $23,570. Just wondering if this sounds about right or if we should keep looking.

RE: jayco 29.5rks

Jayco 29.5rks floor plan Hope this is what you're looking for--pictures on the site, as well. Thanks, but I was looking for actual pictures. The ones on the Jayco website are general advertisement pics and not that specific 5er.

Fordsooperdootydieselsmoker, Is that one of those new lightweight 5th-wheels they have been talking about that can be towed by an F-150 there in the forground...LOL. Beautifully area! Where was that taken? That one can actually be towed by a Ford Ranger:)

jayco 29.5rks

Has anyone actually seen this model? Our local dealer indicated he may not even get this model on his lot, but we could order one (Good Try). If any one has pictures or a link could you please post it for my viewing pleasure. Happy Times :)

RE: San Antonio, TX to SoCal on I-10?

7% grade West of Kerrville, TX then flat till Guadalupe Pass, then flat again to Benson, AZ, the flat again. Nice drive unless you get caught in a sand storm across AZ.
